BMI Calculator (Body Mass Index) Revised

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a numerical value calculated from an individual’s weight and height. It is a widely used tool to categorize individuals based on their body weight. While BMI does not measure body fat directly, it correlates with other direct measures of body fat, making it a useful screening tool to identify potential weight-related health issues.

BMI Reference for Asians

BMI Range (kg/m2) Category
Less than 18.5 Underweight
18.5 – 22.9 Normal weight
23 – 24.9 Obese Grade I
25 – 27.4 Obese Grade II
27.5 – 32.4 Obese Grade III
32.5 and above Obese Grade IV

Note: While the BMI is a useful tool for identifying whether you’re in a healthy weight range, it doesn’t directly assess body fat and it doesn’t account for muscle mass, bone density, overall body composition, and racial and gender differences. Therefore, it’s one of many factors to consider when evaluating your health.
